"Deus in Machina". Igreja na Suíça tem "Jesus IA" num confessionário

Responsáveis da paróquia em Lucerna dizem que não pretendem "imitar uma confissão".
Uma igreja numa paróquia na Suíça colocou uma "instalação de arte experimental" num confessionário que torna possível as pessoas interagir com um programa de inteligência artificial (IA) criado para imitar Jesus Cristo.
Com o nome "Deus in Machina", a instalação foi colocada na capela de São Pedro, a igreja católica mais antiga de Lucerna, em agosto, para iniciar as celebrações do centenário da paróquia, comemorado neste mês de novembro.
Segundo a paróquia, a instalação vai culminar numa apresentação e discussão dos resultados do projeto a 27 de novembro.
Depois de entrar no confessionário, as pessoas podem interagir com a representação de Jesus, que saúda com a frase "a paz esteja contigo, irmão" e encoraja-as a discutir "o que quer que esteja a perturbar o coração hoje".
De acordo com um dos responsáveis, o programa de inteligência artificial foi treinado com base em textos bíblicos e teológicos disponíveis na internet.
Ao jornal "swissinfo.ch", Marco Schmid - o teólogo residente na paróquia - assegurou que, "em todos os testes, as respostas foram ao encontro da visão teológica da Igreja de São Pedro".
Contudo, os responsáveis aconselham as pessoas a não divulgar informações pessoais quando interagem com o modelo de inteligência artificial. "Não é uma confissão", afirmou Schmid, reforçando que "não pretendemos imitar uma confissão".
A paróquia tem funcionários próximo da instalação "Deus in Machina", com quem os visitantes são encorajados a conversar se preferirem uma interação mais humana ou para darem a sua opinião sobre a experiência com a máquina de IA.
