Ministra da Saúde reconhece incumprimento no fornecimento por parte da AstraZeneca

A AstraZeneca só conseguirá entregar à Europa metade das vacinas que tinha contratualizado para o segundo trimestre do ano: só 90 milhões, em vez dos 180 milhões de doses acordados.

A ministra da Saúde, Marta Temido, admite que o anunciado incumprimento no fornecimento de vacinas por parte da AstraZeneca terá consequências nos planos de vacinação em toda a Europa, incluindo Portugal.
"O revés que tem havido nas quantidades entregues face às quantidades contratadas é uma realidade", disse Marta Temido, esta quarta-feira, em reação à noticia de que a AstraZeneca só conseguirá entregar à Europa metade das vacinas que tinha contratualizado para o segundo trimestre do ano: só 90 milhões, em vez dos 180 milhões de doses que estavam combinados.
"O futuro não se apresenta sempre como desejamos, temos que trabalhar para aperfeiçoar as circunstâncias", completou.
Marta Temido diz ainda que acompanha "os esforços de várias companhias e também os que a AstraZeneca tem feito no sentido de mudar a sua capacidade produtiva".
Horas depois de ter feito esse anúncio, a farmacêutica veio acrescentar que tudo está a fazer para respeitar os compromissos, embora só o consiga fazer se mudar os locais de produção.
A AstraZeneca admite sair da Europa e passar a fabricar as vacinas noutros pontos do globo.
